SABINE KUSSMANN
|
Sabine is a member of the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) as a Registered Psychotherapist as well as a member of the Ontario Association of Consultants, Counsellors, Psychometrists and Psychotherapists. She holds a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University.
I have always had a passion for counselling, but started off my career in business marketing. My first experience in a counselling role, was when I created and led a support group for new mothers for a local breastfeeding clinic. After becoming a professionally trained new parent mentor and support volunteer with the Down Syndrome Association of Toronto, it inspired me to transition my career into mental health counselling. My recent experience in the mental health field includes providing a wide range of professional counselling services, however, my core strengths lie in working with individuals who are experiencing symptoms of anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, suicidal ideations, post-partum mood disorders, occupational burnout and relationship challenges. In my role as a psychotherapist, I take a person-centered, non-judgmental and empathetic approach with my clients. One of my favourite mottos that I like to apply in therapy is “start where you are; use what you have; do what you can.” In a collaborative manner, I work with my clients to firstly establish a solid therapeutic relationship and empower them to work through their struggles in order to effect positive change. |
